The company was founded in 2003 by Armie Carabet, an entrepreneur and Alan Scalone, a software engineer[1]. Armie and Alan teamed with research professor Dr. J. Ron Nelson to develop ClickN READ Phonics[2]. The Company debuted ClickN READ Phonics, their first product offering, at the National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) in New Orleans in June 2004[3]. The company launched their second title ClickN SPELL on July 1, 2009.
In March, 2011, ClickN KIDS management team announced a partnership with Warner Bros. wherein ClickN KIDS was able to use the full Looney Tunes character library in their learning platform. After 17 months of contract negotiation and an equal time for development at the ClickN KIDS studio's in Woodland Hills, CA, Looney Tunes ClickN READ Phonics was launched. With no advertising initially, it is thought that management was monitoring site performance, addressing any preliminary user concerns and seeing the impact that the Looney Tunes characters would have on the users/consumers at both the school and home level. As of August 2011, ClickN KIDS began airing commercials on North American cable networks, and it is believed that commercials featuring Looney Tunes characters are right behind.
